2011 has got off to a flying start, already proving to be a busy year for the Navigator team. With Theo West and Paul Norris heading up our London and Singapore teams respectively, we now have a permanent and growing presence in Europe and Asia, providing clients with round-the-clock coverage.
Our public training schedule is packed full, with our new courses Petroleum Engineering for Financiers and Financial Modelling for Oil & Gas Projects as well as new locations now offered in Kuala Lumpur and Johannesburg.
Our “Analysing Extreme Events” slides are now available to download. As seen with yesterday's earthquake in Christchurch, these events can have a big impact and are more frequent than we realise.
Find out more about our service offering and what we have been up to in our new Company Profile Brochure. I hope you enjoy our updates! |

London Singapore Sydney
Navigator’s clients now have continuous coverage 24 hours a day due to our new London office. Theo West has been appointed Director Europe and heads up the region and a hands-on team. For more information checkout our new Corporate Brochure
During 2010 Navigator experienced a significant increase in demand from our European and US client base. With a London-based team and offices in Sydney and also Singapore, we truly offer our clients 24 hour coverage. This means our clients can get the best of both worlds – shorter project lead times due to us working across different time zones and regional project finance expertise.
Our 24 hour coverage is made possible through our collaborative modelling approach and the use of smart technology. When our London office closes in the evening, our Sydney office is just getting in from a morning surf and can take over. This means we can progress projects overnight, making sure things are ready when our clients get into the office in the morning.
Our now permanent expansion in London also means we have increased our public, in-house and small group training capacity as well as offering more public courses in the surrounding regions including Africa and the Middle East.

Navigator 360o Project sense check
Increase your board and management’s confidence in your project by having it reviewed by a third party. Navigator’s 360o project risk review offers an independent, holistic and commercial assessment of your project which enables you to identify and therefore fix key risks at an early stage.
The Navigator project risk review is an easy, non-invasive way to inject deep experience into your project. The review is built on our unique 20 point risk framework which surveys all aspects of your project making it suitable for sponsors, joint ventures, investors, bankers and entrepreneurs alike.
When you commission Navigator for a 360o review we will assess your project against 20 key risks and present you with a comprehensive Risk Assessment Report. We will also review your existing analysis, perform our own bottom-up modelling and assess the achievability of your planned financing timetable.
The Navigator risk review will:
- Minimise the impact of key risks
- Build confidence in your project
- Assist you in obtaining finance and ensure your project can go ahead according to plan
- Save you time!

In the Year of the Rabbit
2011, The Year of the Rabbit, will see Navigator’s continued expansion in Asia. Singapore, home to the region’s project finance powerhouses and a wealth of infrastructure, power and transport companies, is Navigator’s chosen Asian hub. Our local client facing team is backed by the analytical and research horsepower of our Sydney headquarters.
Paul Norris heads our Asian team. Paul has a prestigious career behind him in resource exploration and consulting and is now an expert project and structured financier. Paul has held Director level positions in ABN AMRO’s PPP team in London and was, prior to joining Navigator, a Director of Russian investment giant, VTB Capital.
Our Asian based clients benefit from Paul’s’ experience and consultative personality on our Singapore and regional training courses, in project modelling and of course, international project finance.
Contact us if you or your colleagues are in the Asian region and would like to learn more about our advisory, modelling and training services. We are always more than happy to have a chat.
